On June 18, Samsung released the Samsung Health Monitor app in South Korea that enables blood pressure measurement with the Galaxy Watch Active 2. This app was approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) at the end of April.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active 2 users will automatically install Samsung Health Monitor by updating their Galaxy Watch Active 2 to the latest version through their smartphone’s Galaxy Wearable app.
In addition, even if it says blood pressure measurement, it does not mean that it is completed with Galaxy Watch Active 2 alone, and first of all, it is necessary to measure blood pressure with a conventional cuff type sphygmomanometer. Based on that value, it is a mechanism to calculate the increase or decrease of blood pressure by measuring the pulse wave using the sensor of Galaxy Watch Active 2. Therefore, it is necessary to re-measure with a cuff sphygmomanometer at least every 4 weeks.
